Wesmen Testing Matinée Games for 2014-15 Season

University of Winnipeg WesmenThe University of Winnipeg Wesmen are testing out afternoons in a scheduling experiment for weekend games.

The hope is afternoon university sporting events will free up Saturday evenings for players and spectators.

The trials are being tested with basketball and volleyball contests for the 2014-15 season, beginning this weekend when the Wesmen basketball teams host the University of Calgary Dinos.

Start time for the women’s game will be 2 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 4 p.m. Games are in the Dr. David F. Anderson Gymnasium inside the Duckworth Centre.

The regular Friday night games will continue beginning at 6 p.m. (women) and 8 p.m. (men)
