Man Shot, Another Assaulted on Manitoba Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestA man was sent to hospital in critical condition Saturday morning after being shot in the upper body in the 800 block of Manitoba Avenue.

Winnipeg police responded at around 3:15 a.m. for a report of shots fired. The victim was later upgraded to stable condition in hospital.

A second man suffered non-life threatening injuries from being assaulted, and is also listed in stable condition.

Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).

UPDATE: Monday, November 3 — A 17-year-old male from Winnipeg has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and mischief under $5,000. He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
