Winnipeg Man Charged After Forcing Woman into Sex Trade

Winnipeg Police CrestA Winnipeg man is facing human trafficking charges after allegedly forcing a 25-year-old woman to work as an escort.

Police say the suspect and victim met in Winnipeg and travelled to Brandon. From March of this year to October, the victim was advertised for sexual services.

The accused is also said to have threatened the victim if she didn’t “perform” and work. Police also say she was physically assaulted on one occasion.

Dale Richard Aymont, 43, was arrested on Thursday in downtown Winnipeg.

He faces human trafficking charges, as well as living on the avails of prostitution, assault, uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order and conditions of an undertaking.

Aymont remains in custody.
