Bisons Determined to Stampede Calgary in Hardy Cup

November 14, 2014 7:09 AM | Sports

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Bisons are meeting their toughest opponent of the 2014 CIS football season on Saturday.

The Herd, who are currently 1-0 in post-season action, face the Calgary Dinos for the Hardy Cup after defeating the Saskatchewan Huskies last weekend in the Canada West semi-final.

The Bisons’ win last week was their first of the season on the road, bringing up the contrast again of how the team performs at home and away.

“It’s been a both rewarding and frustrating year for sure,” said Bisons defensive coordinator Stan Pierre. “I can’t put my finger on why we play the way we do at times, especially on defence. It’s been shocking.”

It’s the third time the Bisons and Dinos will meet this year, each splitting a set of games on September 26 and November 1.

Manitoba finished the regular season with a 4-4 record, while the fourth-place Dinos finished 6-2.

Kickoff Saturday is 3 p.m. CT (Shaw TV, CanadaWest.tv).
