An international expert on artist Salvador Dali will stop in at the Winnipeg Art Gallery on Saturday to discuss the artist who is the subject of the museum’s feature exhibit.
Dr. Elliott King will run an entertaining discussion titled The Great Late Salvador Dali. The lecture will investigate the implications and repercussions of Dali’s admonishments of abstraction and use of ‘classic’ to describe his art after 1940, known as “the dark side of the moon” of the artist’s oeuvre.
The lecture is free with gallery admission, which includes Dali Up Close and Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery.
A Q&A will follow the lecture, which begins at 2 p.m.
