A new holiday-themed show at Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Conservatory is opening this Friday, November 21.
Home for the Holidays will include horticultural displays inspired by the classic children’s novel “Around the World in 80 Days” by Jules Verne. The show will also include children’s programming, community choir performances, activities, movies and music.
“This is the most ambitious show we’ve ever undertaken at the conservatory and our team has been working on the horticultural and display elements for months,” said Gerald Dieleman, director of horticulture at the Assiniboine Park Conservancy. “It will be like nothing else you’ve ever seen at the Conservatory.”
Admission is $9.95 for adults and $7.95 for seniors (60+) and children (under 18). Children under three are free. Each ticket includes a 50% off voucher for admission to the Assiniboine Park Zoo valid until March 15, 2015.
Home for the Holidays will run until January 4, 2015. Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Conservatory or on the Assiniboine Park website starting Friday.
Proceeds will support the care and maintenance of Assiniboine Park’s gardens and horticultural displays offered free of charge year-round to park visitors.
