Those attending Winnipeg Jets games who are deaf or hard of hearing will benefit from a new closed-captioning service implemented by True North Sports and Entertainment.
The in-arena service at MTS Centre will provide closed-captioning of public address and promotional announcements at all Jets games.
Tablets for the service cam be reserved and signed out at the Jets’ guest services location on the main level of the MTS Centre concourse. Two business days’ notice is required in order to arrange closed-captioning services, and requests may be made via mtscentre.ca or by calling the True North office at (204) 987-7825.
The service will also be available to patrons with their own smart phones or tablets by obtaining a password at guest services and accessing a website.
Closed-captioning will first be available on Thursday, November 20 when the Jets host the Detroit Red Wings.
True North worked with the Manitoba Deaf Association in developing the new service.
