WINNIPEG — Glenlawn Collegiate will get a new state-of-the-art science lab through provincial funding targeted at lab renewal in schools across the province.

The $300,000 investment is part of a $25 million renewal plan previously announced by the NDP government.

The Louis Riel School Division renovated a geography classroom into a multipurpose science classroom and construction on the new project is already underway.

“Giving students the chance to begin developing those skills from an early age through quality educational opportunities will help set them and our province on the right path,” said Education and Advanced Learning Minister Peter Bjornson.

New equipment and classroom space support the implementation of Manitoba’s updated high school science curriculum, Bjornson added.
