Winnipeg Police CrestThree people are in police custody after several break-ins in the 500 block of Maryland Street on Wednesday.

Winnipeg police say four vehicles had their rear windows broken for thieves to gain access to items inside. Tools were also stolen from a pick-up truck.

The suspects then tried to break into a nearby residence by breaking a window, which alerted the homeowners who called police.

Officers arrived to find the suspects in a back lane and a brief foot chase ensued. Two of the three were taken into custody, while the third was found attempting to break into a home in the 600 block of Sherbrook Street a short while later.

Police learned that the suspects arrived in two vehicles that had been previously reported stolen. Both were recovered.

Charged are Vincent Michael Martel, 22, Lincoln Ross, 24, and Miranda Pascal, 22, all from Winnipeg.

They face several theft-related charges and remain in custody.
