The Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired and signed right-handed pitcher Patrick Mincey from the Kansas City T-Bones in exchange for veteran infielder Jake Blackwood.
Mincey, 25, split last season with the T-Bones and Wichita Wingnuts. In 46 relief appearances between the two clubs, he went 4-3 with a 4.65 ERA and a save.
“His batteries are recharged and he’s looking to get back to where he was a couple years ago,” manager Rick Forney said. “He’s one of those guys that has the ability to pitch the seventh, eighth, or ninth inning. We’re going to give him a chance to close some ballgames for us.”
Blackwood, 29, appeared in 83 games for the Goldeyes last season, hitting .321 with 10 home runs and 49 RBI. He requested to be traded to his hometown of Kansas City.
The Goldeyes have also signed rookie outfielder Brady Wilson to a contract for the 2015 season.
