Structural issues will have the Elmwood Kildonans Pool remaining closed through December and into the New Year.
An electrical fire caused extensive damage this past May and the facility has remained closed ever since.
The City of Winnipeg says cracks were found along the pool tank walls when structural engineers inspected the facility in preparation of re-opening. While the pool tank remains structurally sound, the cracks need to be addressed before the facility can re-open.
Winter programming at Elmwood Kildonans Pool will not be offered. Learn to Swim and other aquatic programming will continue to be held at Transcona Centennial Pool.
City staff are working on a timeframe for when the pool is expected to re-open.
