A woman walking in the Crestview area of Winnipeg was robbed of her purse Friday evening.
Police responded to the area of Bellavista Crescent and Rogan Drive at around 6:30 p.m. for the report of a person having just been robbed.
Police say the woman was grabbed by a male who was armed with a weapon. He allegedly threatened to assault her and stole her purse. The victim wasn’t injured in the robbery.
With the help of the canine unit, the suspect was tracked down and the woman’s property was recovered.
A 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He remains in custody.
