Store Owner Robbed, Assaulted on Ellice Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestTwo men have been arrested after a robbery and assault in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue.

Winnipeg police were called to a store on Monday at around 8:30 p.m., where a man attempted to make a purchase but didn’t have enough money. An argument between the suspect and staff erupted and he eventually left the store.

The suspect returned a short time later with another man and confronted the store owner, who was then physically assaulted.

During the altercation, one of the men threw the cash register onto the floor.

The suspects made off with merchandise after allegedly assaulting the owner once more, but were arrested by police nearby.

Evan Daniel Abraham, 20 has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent and failing to comply with a probation order.

Ronald Valentine Abraham, 24, has been charged with robbery.

Both men remain in custody.
