Local band The Treble will pull a marathon of performances in support of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation December 11-12.
The event 24 Shows in 24 Hours is self-explanatory, with the band playing short acoustic sets each and every hour at various businesses, venues and historical and recognizable landmarks across Winnipeg. Donations will be accepted at every stop for the foundation.
“We typically like to look for a way to give back in the Winnipeg community as it has been pretty great to us,” said bass player Patrick Hansen. “A few of us have our own connections with loved ones and cancer, and it just ended up feeling right.”
Accompanying the event will also eventually be a documentary, put together chronologically to highlight the day.
“I hope it gives people a good sense of why we do it, but also how much fun we have along the way,” Hansen added.
