Two-time Olympic gold medallist Meaghan Mikkelson will be a part of the fourth annual Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Winnipeg this weekend.
Mikkelson, who was also a participant on “Amazing Race Canada” will be at the MTS Iceplex on Saturday, December 13.
“These young future hockey stars are getting a fantastic opportunity to learn hockey skills from the very best. Meaghan is a great example of how much these girls can achieve through hard work and dedication,” said Pam Plaster, director and district manager for Roynat Capital.
The day is free to all participants and will include on and off-ice training sessions led by some of Hockey Manitoba’s elite female hockey players, along with a community outreach component and a keynote address from Mikkelson on the importance of being part of a team and how it can help them to reach their goals.
HockeyFest will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:50 p.m.
