Parking MeterWINNIPEG — Parking scofflaws will have the chance to redeem themselves and help out a deserving family this year.

The Forks North Portage, which manages parking at Portage Place Shopping Centre, will be voiding parking tickets in exchange for a new, unwrapped toy donation.

“We wanted to do our part this holiday season and give back to our community,” said Darren Downey, general manager of FNP Parking. “By voiding a violation in exchange for a donation to the Christmas Cheer Board, we’re hoping to help some families in need.”

Those with a ticket can bring in their donation to the FNP Parking office at 259-393 Portage Avenue during the month of December. Toys must be valued at a minimum of $15, and preferably a gift for a teen.

All donations will be delivered to the Christmas Cheer Board in time for Christmas.
