Police Charge 13 Drivers in First Week of Festive Checkstop

Winnipeg Police CrestThirteen drivers have been charged with impaired driving during the first week of the Winnipeg police festive checkstop program.

Police pulled over 715 vehicles in early December, resulting in 70 approved screen device (ASD) tests to be administered.

Fourteen 24-hour suspensions were issued, with five ASD fails. Police also issued 61 tickets for traffic-related offences.

The check stop program runs through New Year’s Eve.
