The Manitoba Bison women’s hockey team is facing off against “Made-in-Manitoba” alumni players on Saturday at the MTS Iceplex.
The exhibition game is part of the Project 100 festivities, celebrating 100 years of Hockey Manitoba. The weekend brings together approximately 1,000 girls in celebration of the tremendous growth and development of female hockey.
Aside from the feature game, the largest single female hockey celebration ever hosted in Manitoba will include skills camps and development clinics. A special VIP reception hosted by the Manitoba Pork Council will follow the game, and fans in attendance will have the chance to win tickets.
The special Manitoba roster (below) is made up of elite players from Team Manitoba, Team Canada and colleges/universities, including Christine Bestland, Rebecca Hewett, Melanie Gagnon, Laura Fridfinnson, Stacey Corfield and many other notable alumni.
Puck drop is 7 p.m. A pre-game ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m. Admission is free.
