Winnipeg police believe a poster making the rounds on social media offering help to youth and the homeless is a hoax.
Police say a poster titled, “The Big Black Van Crew,” offers medical screening, clean needles, food and other unknown services.
No reports have been received by police suggesting the services being advertised are actually being offered. However, social media posts suggest the van matching the one in the poster has been seen within the city.
Police say despite their belief the poster is a hoax, people should not approach or accept services being offered by anyone associated to the van.
