Winnipeg clothing designer Lennard Taylor is sharing the spotlight with some local designers during an event on Thursday.

“Meet the Makers” is an opportunity for shoppers to meet designers and take part in a shopping experience to help support the local economy.

The Lennard Taylor boutique on the second floor of Portage Place Shopping Centre will host a variety of clothing for men and women, men’s leather Jose & Markham footwear, vintage and new jewelry, hand knit scarves, beeswax candles, soaps and other items.

“I wanted to create a lifestyle boutique with something for all ages,” Taylor said.

The boutique will close at the end of the month as Lennard heads out on a North American sales trip to Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Los Angeles, New York, Montreal and Toronto.

The boutique was originally born as a pop-up shop through the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ’s “Launch It” program earlier this year. The shop will be open tomorrow from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
