WINNIPEG — In-store beer and wine making is coming to Manitoba retailers.

Consumers will soon be able to make their own brew at local stores and take it home after it’s ready.

“In our consultations on modernizing liquor laws, Manitoba consumers and businesses expressed interest in establishing in-store wine and beer making,” said Mineral Resources Minister Dave Chomiak, minister responsible for liquor and gaming control.

The process will work with the consumer purchasing a home wine or beer making kit and using the equipment provided in the store.

The final regulations to modernize Manitoba’s liquor laws are expected to be in place by spring 2015.
