A Winnipeg man has died following a crash involving two semi-trailer trucks west of the city near St. Francois Xavier.
The crash happened on Highway 1 at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday when a westbound semi jackknifed on the highway and was struck by another semi.
The 49-year-old man driving the first semi was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 24-year-old Montreal man driving the second semi wasn’t injured.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision, but RCMP say icy road conditions may have played a role.
The name of the deceased isn’t being released.
