Manitoba RCMP Charge 13 People with Impaired Driving

RCMP Crest LogoManitoba RCMP have charged 13 people with impaired driving during the third week of the annual holiday checkstop program.

A total of 2,863 vehicles were pulled over throughout the province during 90 checkstops December 15-21.

Five people were charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

Seventeen alcohol-related roadside suspensions were given out, while 457 other traffic-related charges were laid.

There was one fatality during the third week of the program where two semis collided on Highway 1 west of St. Francois Xavier. Icy roads were a contributing factor in the crash, which killed a Winnipeg man.
