Man in Critical Condition After Hit-and-Run

Winnipeg Police CrestA 29-year-old man remains in hospital in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Winnipeg police responded to the area of Sherbrook Street and Alexander Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. for the report of a pedestrian being hit.

Police say a Ford Fusion was travelling eastbound on Alexander at a high rate of speed when it crossed a concrete median near Sherbrook Street. The vehicle hit the pedestrian who was attempting to cross Sherbrook, and then continued on to strike a parked vehicle in a nearby driveway.

Two male occupants were seen fleeing from the vehicle on foot, but no arrests have been made.
