Suspicious Man Claiming to Need Money for Gas: Police

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have issued a warning about a suspicious man attending homes in the city claiming to have run out of gas for his truck and in need of money.

Police say they have received reports of the man since mid-November and the majority of incidents have occurred in the Elmwood and East Kildonan areas. Similar reports of the man asking for money have been filed for the 2300 block of Burrows Avenue and the Riel Avenue/St. Mary’s Road area.

He is described as Caucasian, approximately 50-years-old, approximately 5’8” tall with a medium build, balding and wearing prescription glasses. He was seen to be driving a dirty white truck.
