Dauphin Inmates Captured After Escape

RCMP Crest LogoTwo inmates who escaped from the Dauphin Correctional Centre on Sunday are back in custody.

RCMP say the inmates were being transported from one building to another when they scaled the fence and ran from the grounds at around 7 p.m.

Manitoba Corrections officers and RCMP immediately began a pursuit.

Both men were back in custody approximately one hour later.

Skyler Walter Cook, 20, from the Shoal River First Nation and Courtney Shermen Miles, 23, from Shamattawa have each been charged with escaping lawful custody and will appear in Dauphin court today.

They were originally being held on charges including robbery, mischief, and possession of a weapon.
