December was certainly a busy month for Winnipeg’s Assiniboine Park Zoo.
The zoo experienced its highest visitation numbers since 1991, attracting nearly 10,000 visitors — three times as many as in December 2013.
“The zoo has always been a great winter experience for families, but with the addition of the Journey to Churchill exhibit, it really is an entirely new experience,” said Laura Cabak, brand and communications manager.
“In many ways, animal activity is highest during the colder months and when you combine the beauty of the outdoor animal experiences with even more indoor venues, it really is a fantastic winter destination.”
The zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
