Winnipeg Police CrestA man and woman have been charged after allegedly assaulting two people in the 300 block of Olive Street.

Winnipeg police were called to a home on Saturday at around 2:15 a.m. after they say the pair confronted the occupants over relationship issues.

A 35-year-old man and 27-year-old woman inside were threatened and physically assaulted when police say the suspects forced their way into the home. The victims received non-life threatening injuries.

After fleeing in a vehicle, Air 1 was called in to maintain a visual on the suspects. They were eventually stopped in the area of Moray Street and Ness Avenue.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with forcible entry, assault and uttering threats. He was release on a promise to appear.

Kayla Josephine Bernard, 22, has been charged with forcible entry, two counts of assault, two counts of assaulting a peace officer and two counts of uttering threats.

Bernard was remanded into custody due to her violent behaviour and level of intoxication.
