Fake CFS Worker Sought by Steinbach RCMP

RCMP Crest LogoSteinbach RCMP have put out a warning about a woman claiming to be a Child and Family Services (CFS) worker in the area.

On Wednesday, the woman was let into a home in Blumenort, Manitoba after saying she was there to do an inspection and check the well-being of a child.

The homeowner became suspicious and contacted authorities. Police say no record of the woman working for CFS was found.

The woman is described as being in her 20s, approximately 5’6″ with a thin build, Caucasian with sandy blonde hair in a ponytail. She was wearing a black jacket and a blue blouse. Her vehicle is described as an older model black Chevrolet SUV.

Police say it’s wise to always ask to see credentials if you feel uncertain about someone at your door.
