Woman, 18, Dead After Altercation in North Point Douglas

Winnipeg Police CrestAn 18-year-old woman is dead after an overnight altercation in the 100 block of Lorne Avenue.

Winnipeg police were called to the home at around 1:10 a.m. Saturday and found the victim unresponsive. She was taken to hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries.

Homicide detectives are conducting interviews and no arrests have been made.

The cause of death isn’t yet known pending an autopsy.

UPDATE: An autopsy completed Saturday afternoon determined that the cause of death is medically-related and criminal charges won’t be laid at this time.
