The popular demand of two exhibits at the Winnipeg Art Gallery has solidified their run to be held over.

Dali Up Close and Masterworks from the Beaverbrook Art Gallery have been extended to February 22.

“Manitoba’s response to Dali has been terrific,” said Dr. Stephen Borys, WAG director and CEO.

“We’re thrilled to see the record crowds for the first major exhibition of Salvador Dali in the province, alongside one of Canada’s finest European and British collections. For that reason we wanted to offer Winnipeggers and Manitobans a few more weeks to see and enjoy this blockbuster exhibition package.”

More than 4,000 people visited the exhibits during the first 24 hours of their opening. The shows have since attracted more than 30,000 visitors and nearly 4,000 school children through 120 educational tours.

The two exhibits were scheduled to close on January 31 at this year’s Art & Soul event, The Lucid Dream.
