Winnipeg police hope the public can help them identify a deceased man found behind the Garrick Hotel on Monday, January 12.
The man’s body was located in the afternoon at the rear of 287 Garry Street and foul play is not suspected.
The deceased is described as Caucasian, darker skin tone, approximately 50-60 years of age, six feet tall, very slim build, 125 lbs, missing some teeth, brown eyes, medium-length brownish-grey hair, mustache, no tattoos, with a light one-inch scar on his forehead.
Police have released photos of what the man was wearing at the time he was found, including glasses, white AVIVA runners, and a Ferretti Quartz watch with a silver band. He was also wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt.
Anyone who can help identify him is asked to call the missing persons unit at (204) 986-6250. It’s believed the deceased had no prior dealings with police.
UPDATE: Thursday, January 22 — The deceased has been identified. His name isn’t being released.
