Three people have been arrested in connection to the murder of a 21-month-old child from Peguis First Nation.
The child was brought to Percy E. Moore Hospital in Hodgson, Manitoba on July 17, 2014 where she later succumbed to trauma-related injuries.
Her mother, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder and failing to provide the necessities of life.
The child’s father, 33, and her stepsister, 20, have both been charged with manslaughter and failing to provide the necessities of life.
All of the accused are from Peguis First Nation and remain in custody. They will appear in Winnipeg court today.
