The river is a little frozen for rowing at this time of year, so the Winnipeg Rowing Club has other plans.
The club at 20 Lyndale Drive is hosting the Winnipeg Indoor Rowing Championship on February 1. Rowers will compete on rowing machines, with races split by age group and gender.
Full races are 2,000 metres in length, 500 metre races available for the non-rower. A relay event will accommodate teams wanting to compete.
Registration is $15 per rower and doors open at 7 a.m. The competition begins at 8:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend regardless of experience.
Prizes will be awarded, and refreshments served.
