Nominations are now open for the YMCA-YWCA Women of Distinction Award.
The annual awards program celebrates Manitoba women who have broken barriers, made unique and exemplary contributions and inspired the development of others in the community.
“By nominating inspiring women, you bring forward their stories so we can publicly share their successes and triumphs with the community,” said Melanie Verhaeghe, Women of Distinction steering committee chair.
Categories include arts, culture and heritage; community activism and social enterprise; and volunteerism.
Two scholarship awards will also be given to outstanding young women who will be graduating from high school in the spring.

The 39th annual YMCA-YWCA Winnipeg Women of Distinction Awards will be held May 6.
