Snow Maze Returning to Winnipeg’s Downtown

Snow Maze 2015A giant snow maze in the heart of Winnipeg’s downtown is returning for another winter.

The SnowMAZEing event invites everyone to the courtyard of the Millennium Library on February 7-8 to help create the frozen spectacle.

Led by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ and Winnipeg Arts Council, the public is encouraged to bring their shovels and join in on the fun to help build snow bricks.

“Winnipeggers are a hearty bunch and we’re always looking for ways to celebrate and have fun outside during our winters,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “With Winnipeg ranked as one of Canada’s premiere winter destinations, this snow maze adds one more reason for people to embrace the season and come together downtown.”

The build will run February 7 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and February 8 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 251 Donald Street. However, if the temperature dips below -28°C with the wind chill, SnowMAZEing will be postponed.
