Two people have been arrested and charged in relation to Winnipeg’s first homicide of 2015.
Dustin Craig McKay, 22, was knocked unconscious on January 23 after getting into an altercation with two people in the area of Isabel Street and Pacific Avenue at around 11:20 p.m.
Police say while lying in the southbound lanes of lsabel Street, McKay was struck by a vehicle. Officers in the area saw the collision and pulled over the driver.
Desmond Evan Spicer, 50, of Winnipeg, has been charged with driving while impaired and driving impaired causing death.
Police continued to seek suspects in the initial attack and arrested Billy Joe Couture, 28, of Winnipeg on Tuesday.
Couture has been charged with manslaughter, and failing to comply with a probation order and condition of a recognizance. He remains in custody.
