A 19-year-old man has been charged after Winnipeg police say he threatened a cab driver with a gun.
The confrontation early Tuesday morning began after a dispute over cab fare in the 100 block of Bannerman Avenue. Police say the man and a 16-year-old girl originally asked to be picked up from the Bannerman location to be taken to a home on Carmen Avenue before returning.
An argument erupted and both suspects excited the vehicle before police say he pulled a gun on the driver. The cab fled and the driver contacted police.
Police and the canine unit were able to track down both suspects.
Dustin Wayne Johnson of Winnipeg has been charged with several firearm-related offences. He remains in custody.
The 16-year-old girl was released without charge.
