Law enforcement personnel and community members will take the chilly plunge on Saturday in the name of charity.
The 2015 Polar Plunge “Freezin For A Reason” is being put on by Special Olympics Manitoba to raise funds and awareness for the organization.
The third annual Winnipeg Polar Plunge will take place at the Indian Me?tis Friendship Centre, 45 Robinson Street, starting at 1:30 p.m.
Just over $39,000 was raised during last year’s plunge, with 121 brave Manitobans taking part. There is no admission to watch the event.
Those who wish to register or pledge their support can do so at specialolympics.mb.ca.
Similar plunges are being held across North America as organized by the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR).
