WINNIPEG — Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba, has two important dates coming up they’re hoping you’ll mark on your calendar.
One week from today, February 13, the charity will team up with QX104 and FAB 94.3 for a 12-hour radiothon at Polo Park Shopping Centre.
The Variety Children’s Radiothon will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in support of raising much-needed funds to help the organization continue its work in helping children in need.
“We help give these kids a childhood with everything from specialized equipment to computers, and everything in between,” said Jerry Maslowsky, CEO of Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba. “Kids come with all kinds of needs and with varying abilities. We are able to help them with the generous donations of Manitobans.”
Following the radiothon, Variety’s Gold Heart Day will take over the mall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. Variety’s mascot, Heartly, will bring along Minions to greet the many children at the mall. The purchase of a Variety Gold Heart Pin features a Minion and helps to support Variety children.
Since its inception in 1978, Variety Manitoba has raised more than $30 million and helped 700,000 children with support from generous Manitobans.
