Festival du Voyageur not only brings out the best in French-Canadian culture, but also music.
Francophone music entrepreneurs from across Western Canada are gathering in Winnipeg February 20-21 for Rame à la rencontre, an initiative being put on by Manitoba Music.
The event is focused on building key music business connections and creating career development opportunities. Rame à la rencontre features two showcases and an afternoon industry panel as well as networking opportunities and one-on one meetings for participants.
Two showcases will run February 20 at St. Boniface restaurant Dwarf no Cachette with Western Canadian Music Award nominee Jocelyne Baribeau and rapper Alpha Toshineza from Manitoba, and Saskatchewan indie electro act Mario Lepage. The following afternoon, the Centre culturel franco-manitobain will feature performances by Saskatchewan’s Annette Campagne, Alberta’s Paul Cournoyer, and British Columbia’s Isabelle Longnus. Both showcases and the industry panel are free and open to the public.
