A new political ad hitting the airwaves tonight will target Winnipeg Jets fans ahead of next month’s NDP leadership convention.

The group Manitoba Forward will run the above ad during the Jets/Nashville Predators game, in an effort to hold the governing NDP to account.

“Manitobans are incredibly worried about the direction of our province, and the response to Manitoba Forward ideas has been overwhelming,” said Dave Shorr, Manitoba Forward executive director.

“The purpose of this ad campaign is to have these kitchen table conversations with as many Manitobans as possible.”

Manitoba Forward has doubled their paid membership since launching in January. Members include Markus Buchart, former leader of the Manitoba Green Party, Dr. Roger Kingsley, a board member for both the Federal and Manitoba Liberal Party, and Graham Lane, former chair of the Public Utilities Board.

The NDP’s leadership vote is March 8 in Winnipeg.
