Just in time for Festival du Voyageur, Winnipeg is welcoming 11 travel journalists to the city.
Tourism Winnipeg and Travel Manitoba is hosting the media group, who come from across Canada, the U.S. and U.K. Journalists arrived Wednesday and will be in Winnipeg until February 15.
Publications represented include National Geographic Traveler, Le Devoir, Western Living, In Magazine, and the book “The Great Canadian Bucket List.”
During their time in the city, the group will visit Journey to Churchill at Assiniboine Park Zoo, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, and Thermea spa. They will also experience the Red River Mutual Trail at The Forks, Festival du Voyageur and the RAW: almond pop-up restaurant.
“The media exposure for Winnipeg is tremendous as it helps spread the message that Winnipeg is Canada’s hottest winter city, and it encourages visitors to consider our city for their next winter holiday,” said Chantal Sturk-Nadeau, senior vice-president of Tourism Winnipeg.
