Manitoba musicians are heading south to showcase their talents at the Folk Alliance International Conference.
The Kansas City conference is the premier development event focused on folk, roots, multicultural, and world music in North America.
Representing Manitoba will be Leaf Rapids, Red Moon Road, Sweet Alibi, and The Small Glories (aka FAI vets Cara Luft and JD Edwards).
Other Western Canadian artists include Saskatchewan’s Keiffer McLean, Alberta’s Doll Sisters, BC’s Joel Fafard, and others.
The showcase is a Manitoba Music partnered event with SaskMusic, Alberta Music, and MusicBC under the BreakOut West banner.
Manitoba Music says events like these increase the level of awareness and connection between the province’s music industry and the broader national and international industry.
The 27th annual event runs February 19-22 in Kansas City, Missouri.
