The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will face their prairie rivals the Saskatchewan Roughriders to begin the 2015 season on Saturday, June 27 in Regina.
The CFL released the season schedule on Friday, placing the Bombers at Investors Group Field for their home opener on Thursday, July 2 against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Fans can expect to see the traditional Banjo Bowl game against the Roughriders on Saturday, September 12 as opposed to the regular Sunday this year.
“This Labour Day Classic rematch has traditionally been played on Sunday. We believe a Saturday evening game will allow our fans to have even more fun celebrating one of the best rivalries in the CFL,” said Blue Bombers president and CEO Wade Miller.
Miller said the schedule was created with the FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015 in mind, which is being played at stadiums across Canada this summer.
