A gathering of the city’s anime community is taking over the Delta Winnipeg this weekend for their annual winter festival.

Ai-Kon Winterfest is a smaller one-day event to break up the chilly season. Those who attend get a small taste of what is in store for the main Ai-Kon event, such as various festivities such as hallway costume awards, anime showings and a few panels relating to anime and Japanese culture. The event also features a small vendor hall with works from talented artists as well as a few anime and pop culture themed vendors.

Tickets are available online or at the door for $15. Ai-Kon runs Saturday, February 28 from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. at 350 St. Mary Avenue.
