Winnipeg Police Association Launches PSA Campaign

A new round of public service announcements have been launched by the Winnipeg Police Association, focusing on community commitment by city officers.

“It is important for citizens to understand police officers are your neighbours and care about the community,” said WPA vice-president George Van Makelberge.

“We have a challenging and dangerous job, and, like all citizens, want our families to live in a safe and secure city.”

Van Makelberge also underlined the importance of officers giving back through the WPA’s Cool to be Kind anti-bullying school program and Motorcycle Ride for Dad, which fights prostate cancer through research and education.

The PSAs were produced by TKM Inc. and Xibalba Design Studio and are currently airing on local television. The 30-second PSAs and the full 90-second videos can be viewed at winnipegpoliceassociation.ca.
