7-Eleven’s Bring Your Own Slurpee Cup Day Returning

March 11, 2015 1:29 PM | News

7-Eleven SlurpeeWinnipeggers rarely need an excuse to buy a Slurpee. We are, after all, the Slurpee Capital of the World.

On March 20 — the first day of spring — 7-Eleven will resurrect its Bring Your Own Cup Day at stores nationwide. Last year, customers brought all sorts of receptacles to fill up on Slurpee, such as teapots, buckets, trophies, fish bowls and even slow cookers.

“We believe Slurpee lovers can get even more creative this year,” said Raj Kapoor, vice-president and GM of 7-Eleven Canada. “A high bar was set last year but we know our customers can take the cup creativity up another level and have even more fun — we’ve seen time and time again how imaginative and individual Slurpee fans can be.”

Containers have to be no more than 26cm in diameter, water tight, clean and hygienic. The cost for filling your own cup is $1.49.

The one-day Slurpee promotion runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time, while Slurpee lasts.

The social media hashtag for the event is #BYOC.
