A summer camp series inspired by the Winnipeg Art Gallery’s newest exhibition will have children learning all about Greek mythology.
Registration is now open for Summer Art Camps, running weekly from July 6 to August 21. This year’s theme will mimic “Olympus: The Greco-Roman Collections of Berlin,” which opens at the WAG on April 26.
“Kids and teens will not want to miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be transported into the fascinating world of ancient Greece through an outstanding collection of antiquities including full size marble statuary, painted vases, jewellery, armour and much more,” said Rachel Baerg, WAG head of education.
The camps target children ages six to 14. Teens ages 13 to 17 can immerse themselves in a weeklong studio workshop from August 10 to 14 (12 to 4 p.m.) Participants work in a variety of drawing and painting media, and develop a 3D project. All supplies are included.
Registration is available at WAG.ca/studio or by calling (204) 789-1766.
