Manitoba farmers are being provided with free safety consultations during 2015 Canada Agricultural Safety Week.
SAFE Work Manitoba is providing the material, offering farmers free resources and services, which include free farm support to help identify safety hazards on the farm and solutions to protect farmers, their workers and their families.
“Farm owners are known for their leadership when it comes to growing their business and facing adversity head-on to find success,” said Jamie Hall, chief operating officer for SAFE Work Manitoba. “Now we’re asking them to put that same leadership and determination into making their farms safer for their workers and families, and SAFE Work Manitoba is here to help.”
SAFE Work will also work with farmers to implement or evaluate a safety program or system on the farm, and help them to understand how the Workplace Safety and Health Act and regulations apply to their farm business.
Information on programs is available at SafeManitoba.com/farms. CASW takes place March 15-21.
